Atiquzzafar Khan is a well-known scholar in the area of Islamic Economics and Islamic Finance. He did his MA (Economics) at the University of Waterloo, Canada in 1989 and Ph. D (Economics) at International Islamic University Islamabad Pakistan in 2013. He has thirty-two years of teaching experience and presently serving International Islamic University Islamabad as Associate Professor. During his academic career, he taught various courses at the BS, MS and Ph.D. levels. His teaching interest includes Islamic Economics, Islamic finance, Insurance &Takaful, Economic theory, and Mathematical Economics. He has helped various institutions in Pakistan in designing Islamic Banking and Finance program including Sheikh Zaid Islamic Centre, University of Karachi and Azad Jammu and Kashmir University Muzaffarabad. He has published four books which include “Fundamentals of Islamic Economics and Finance”. He has published research articles both in local and international journals in the area of Islamic Finance. He has served the International Institute of Islamic Economics, IIUI in various capacities and presently working as Director-General. He has supervised many students at MS and Ph. D levels in their research work. He also works as a trainer in the area of Takaful for insurance and Takaful professionals.
