Biography:

Abdullahi Saleh BASHIR (Ph.D.) teaches information and communication courses at Modibbo Adama University of Technology (formerly Federal University of Technology), Yola, Nigeria since 2000. He has published his researches in over thirty national and foreign journals and books. His interests are ICT use, climate change communication, and conflict communication. He also has extensive training and practice in Open and Distance Education (ODE) locally and internationally and is National Trainer in ODE. He is a member of the African Council for Communication Education, (ACCE) Nigeria chapter where he has held positions as National Treasurer and now Deputy National President and acting chair of the ICT Division.

Current Research and Recent Achievements:

Currently, he is working on algorithm governance as a form of media regulation in Nigeria. He is also working on the use of the Learning Management System by distance learning students.

Experiences:

Since the year 2000, he is an academic staff at Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola. He started as graduate assistant in the B.Tech Information Technology program where he taught communication courses like Technical Commination, writing for the media, research methods, Language and Communication in conflict resolution, ICTs, and development, etc. he is a member and executive of the African Council for Communication Education Nigeria Chapter and Nigerian Institute of Public Relations. He was the HoD of the Information Technology Department from 2012 to 2017. Currently, he is the Deputy Director, Centre for Distance Learning.
