Biography:

Prof. Nor Aishah Saidina Amin is a Professor of Reaction Engineering, Head of the Chemical Reaction Engineering Group (CREG) at the Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA in 1996. Her expertise is in applied catalysis, reaction engineering, and reactor design and modeling. She has been working for many years on interdisciplinary research at the interface of photo plasma science and catalysis for improving sustainability in a circular economy. Significant efforts have been devoted to photo- and plasma catalysis, where the combination of photo- and non-thermal plasma and heterogeneous catalysis has been used as a promising and emerging low-temperature process for the conversion of methane and carbon dioxide. She is also working on the ozonolysis process for the conversion of biomass to cellulose-based products and biofuels. She also has a keen interest in using COMSOL and VASP in computational modeling research. She serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for Energy Conversion and Management, Energy and Fuels, and Bulletin of Chemical Reaction Engineering and Catalysis. She is also an Associate Editor in the Catalytic Reactions and Chemistry section with Frontiers in Chemistry. She is a professional engineer and Fellows of Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and Academy of Science, Malaysia. Dr. Nor Aishah is a Highly- Cited Researcher and a Malaysia Research Star Award recipient. Her other accomplishments include Fulbright Scholar in 2019 and also Leaders in Innovation Fellowship from the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK in 2021
