Biography:

Prof. Dr. Ignasius D.A. Sutapa , was born in Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta Province. He completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees at the University of Nancy I in 1992, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 1996 at The Institute National Polytechnique de Lorraine (INPL), France. Other different courses and training were also added to his education formation during his professional journey. He is currently a Professor of Chemical and Environmental Technology at the National Research and Innovation Agency. He was appointed as Executive Secretary of the Asia Pacific Centre for Ecohydrology (APCE) – UNESCO Category II Centre from 2011 to 2016 and became Executive Director of APCE in August 2016. Strongly involved in the Indonesian National Committee of UNESCO IHP as Vice Chairman since 2016, he was appointed as Chairman of the UNESCO Regional Steering Committee (RSC) of IHP for Asia Pacific Region from 2017 to 2019. Dr. Ignasius D.A. Sutapa was appointed as Vice Chairman of Committee for Environment Health Experts – Ministry of Health RI since 2020, and become Chairman of Indonesian Digital Leaders Association (IDLA/APDI) since January 2022.
