Rana Al Kady is a Ph.D. Candidate in Environmental Engineering at the American University in Cairo (AUC). She has also attained her MSc in Renewable Energy Engineering and BEng (Hons) in Architectural Engineering both from Heriot-Watt University, UK. She currently works as a Senior Sustainable Energy and Environmental Specialist in the Environmental Unit at RCREEE. She has extensive experience in the field of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency projects and programs in the MENA region. She has approximately 8 years of experience working on Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, and Sustainable projects. Over the last 5 years, she has developed her planning logistics and business development skills.

She is familiar with Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency projects and activities as she was involved in several projects such as the Active Turbine Wind Management Program (ATMP), Benban Solar Project, and GGF Palestine Project for Retrofitting. She is familiar with local and international environmental standards such as ISO 14001. Also, she has the ability to produce high-quality written outputs, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to build strong partnerships with relevant project partners; this includes being able to work and collaborate with Governments in 17 member states of RCREEE, NGOs, UN Agencies, as well as other relevant consultancy firms in the climate change and energy industry.

She has also carried out capacity-building events and workshops in the energy and environmental sector to promote such operations in the region. She has also carried out workshops under the ‘women in energy’ theme. She has also developed her soft skills; this is inclusive of report writing, attending stakeholders’ technical and financial meetings, consultation meetings, and communication and coordination with the partners.
