Prof. Dr. Osman Hasan has a proven track record of exhibiting excellence in most of the core components of higher education in Engineering, including leadership, teaching, research, internationalization, and industrial outreach. He is Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Concordia University, Canada. Dr. Hasan’s research interest has been in the areas of formal verification, hardware security, approximate computing, and e-health. He has been able to acquire research grants worth over Pk. Rs.130M from various national and international agencies. Dr. Hasan’s research findings have been published in 6 books, 15 book chapters, over 100 journal papers, and over 160 conference papers at reputable venues. He has an h-index of 31, and 3817 citations according to Google Scholar. Dr. Hasan has key contributions to internationalization, including winning 2 major Erasmus Mundus mobility grants and collaborating with various institutes in America, Europe, and Asia. Dr. Hasan has 4 years’ experience in the industry including 2-years at LSI Logic, Canada. This has allowed him to foster effective industrial collaborations. He has filed 4 patents and is commercializing 2 major products, i.e. Pakistan’s first training simulator for MIS and Peekafood in collaboration with industry. Dr. Hasan is an Advisory Board Member of Mustafa^(pbuh) Science and Technology Foundation (MSTF) (2023-27), an Excellent Member of the Research Committee of COMSTECH Inter Islamic Network of Virtual Universities (CINVU) (2022-24), and a Board member of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Pakistan (2022-2025). Dr. Hasan’s overall contributions to higher education and research have been recently recognized by the Government of Pakistan and he has been awarded with the Tamgh-e-Imtiaz (Medal of Distinction) by the President of Pakistan.
