Prof. Ali S. Hadi has an esteemed career spanning decades in academia and industry. He began his higher education at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, before pursuing advanced degrees in the United States. He joined Cornell University in 1984 as an Assistant Professor, rising through the ranks to become a full Professor and Department Chair. Since 2000, he has been a prominent figure at the American University in Cairo (AUC), where he holds the title of Distinguished University Professor and previously served as Department Chair and Vice Provost. His career is distinguished by numerous awards for excellence in teaching, research, and service. He has authored five books and over 100 articles, with his work garnering more than 20,000 citations on Google Scholar. A recognized leader in his field, he is a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences and has held prestigious visiting professorships at multiple international universities. He was also elected Editor-in-Chief of the International Statistical Review.
