Prof. Lutfihak Alpkan was born in Istanbul in 1969. He graduated from International Relations Department of Marmara University in 1993. He has two master’s degrees from both Political Science Department of Boğaziçi University in 1996, and Business Administration Department of Gebze Institute of Technology in 1997. He received his Ph.D. again from Gebze Institute of Technology and then became Assistant Professor in 2000. He has publications on various research domains such as strategic management, innovation management, human resource management, business ethics, organizational behavior, ambidexterity, etc. in various scientific journals including International Journal of Production Economics, International Small Business Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Engineering and Technology Management, Journal of Global Strategic Management, Management Decision, etc. As a Full Professor of Management and Organization since 2009, he undertook various administrative tasks at both universities and ministries such as Director of the Social Sciences Institute of Gebze Institute of Technology, Chairman of the International Strategic Management Conference, Founder and Director of the Center for Social Innovation, Vice Rector of Istanbul Technical University, Deputy Undersecretary of Public Order and Security, etc. Alpkan is currently Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security, Member of the Council for Social Policies at the Presidency of the Republic of Turkiye, and Vice President of the International Strategic Management and Managers Association. He speaks Turkish, English and French.
