Biography:

Dr. Matchanov entered to Tashkent State University (current Uzbekistan National University) in 1987. In 1992 he graduated from this university and received the specialty of physics-teacher. In 1992 he was hired in the Physical-technical institute of SPA “Physics-Sun” of Uzbek Academy of Sciences. In 1998 he earned his Ph.D. He worked as a guest-researcher in Germany (2003) and a postdoctoral researcher in the USA (2008-2009). Besides, he participated in the training, workshops, and conferences in the field of renewable energy in developed countries, such as the USA, Germany, Spain, South Korea, China, India, Malaysia, and others.

In 2012 he was Awarded "Shuhrat” Medal for diligent work made great strides in economic development, science and culture of the republic, education of the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and devotion to the ideas of national independence and social progress.

He is the author of many national and international articles in the field of renewable energy. From 2014 he is carrying out his professional activities in the position of director in the International Solar Energy Institute.

Current Research and Recent Achievements:
  • Development of basic design of PV module test lab. of International Solar Energy Institute (ISEI);

  • Design and Construction of 130 kW grid connected PV pilot plant in Pap (Namangan) in Uzbekistan;

  • Creation of 5 kW multicomponent PV system in ISEI testing polygon using the different PV technologies;

  • Designing, Construction of 10kW (1-phase), 9kW (3- phase), 3 kW(on-grid), 3 kW(on/off-grid), 2,2 kW PV system in ISEI territory;

  • Integration of PV systems (small, medium, large scale) to the centralized power supply network (on-going project);

  • Creation and commissioning of an experimental energy-efficient residential building with a solar system for electricity and heat supply using SRO technology;

  • Development of codes, regulations and national standards of Uzbekistan on the basis of international standards of IEC in the field of solar energy(on-going project);.
