Prof. İBRAHİM ÖZCOŞAR was born in Diyarbakır in 1975. He completed his primary and secondary education in Diyarbakır. He graduated from Dicle University, Faculty of Education, Department of History in 1998. He received his Master's degree from Dicle University Social Sciences Institute in 2000. He started working as a lecturer at Dicle University in 2000. In 2006, he studied at Erciyes University Social Sciences Institute. He received the title of Doctor with his thesis titled "Mardin Assyrians in the 19th Century". He became Associate Professor in 2010 and Professor in 2015. In 2015, he served as Vice Rector of Mardin Artuklu University and Dean of the Faculty of Letters of Mardin Artuklu University. İbrahim Özcoşar, who has many scientific books and articles in international journals, took an active role in the establishment of many non-governmental organizations, especially Kadim Akademi and Beytülmakdis Studies Foundation. İbrahim Özcoşar was appointed as the Rector of Mardin Artuklu University in 2019.
