Dr. Sadegh Vaez-Zadeh has been a professor at the University of Tehran since 1997. He has been the first Iran Vice President on S&T and served as the president of Iran National Elite Foundation. He has been the Head of Power Engineering Department and a Member of the Council for S&T Park at the university. Dr. Vaez-Zadeh is currently the Director of Advanced Motion Systems Research Laboratory, which he founded in 1998. His research interests include power electronics, wireless power transfer (WPT), renewable energy, and energy policy. He has authored or co-authored over 250 research papers in these areas. He has supervised the development of the first dynamic WPT for a totally no-battery EV on a commercial scale as a national technology project. He has also proposed a framework for energy policy-making to ensure sustainable development. He is the author of Control of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors, OXFORD University Press, 2018, with the Chinese translation of the book published in 2022. Dr. Vaez-Zadeh has served and is serving as an editor of three IEEE and IET journals, and also journals in Iran, Japan, and India. He has been active in many recognized conferences and summits worldwide as a general chair, a keynote speaker, a member of technical committee, etc. He has served as the founding president of Power Electronics Society of Iran and holds the Chair of Wireless and Contactless Power Transfer under the Iran National Science Foundation (INSF). He is a member of several technical committees, including the IEEE PES Energy Internet Coordinating Committee (EICC). He has received many domestic and international awards for his technical contributions including International Khwarizmi Award and the First Prize of the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS).
