Biography:

 

Dima Al-Khatib commenced her appointment as the Director of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation on 1 March 2023. For the past four years, Dima has been serving as the UNDP Resident Representative in the Republic of Moldova. Prior to that, she held several positions in other duty stations and brings more than 25 years of leadership and management experience including that of Programme and Policy Coordinator at the UNDP Regional Hub in Amman, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Kuwait, and UNDP Deputy Country Director in Libya. In addition to her country office and regional experiences, Dima has worked in UNDP Headquarters in New York, holding the positions of Regional Programme Advisor with the Regional Bureau for Arab States, Human Resources Manager with the Talent Management Group of the Office of Human Resources, and Sustainable Energy Specialist with the Bureau for Development Policy. Dima has also worked with UNICEF Lebanon and the Ministry of Public Health in the United Arab Emirates before joining UNDP Lebanon in 1995 as the Environment Programme Manager. Dima holds a Diplome d’Etudes Approfondies (DEA) in Environmental Health from the Lebanese University and France University of Bordeaux II, and a Bachelor of Science and a Teaching Diploma in Environmental Health from the American University of Beirut.
