Place of Birth : Iraqi (from Kurdistan Region)
Position : Lecturer, Department of Physics, College of Education, University of Garmian, Kalar, Kurdistan Region, Iraq.
Field of study : Nanomaterials Science and Applied Physics, specializing in the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials, functional coatings for ceramic and glass surfaces (including self-cleaning, superhydrophobic, photocatalytic, anti-corrosion, and cool surface properties), color science and nanopigments, surface engineering, and advanced material characterization techniques. His work also encompasses science communication and curriculum development in physics.
Professor Salar Karim Fatah is a dedicated researcher and academic in nanomaterials and applied physics, currently serving as a Lecturer at the Department of Physics, College of Education, University of Garmian, Iraq. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from Yazd University, Iran, and his M.Sc. in Nanomaterials and Nanoengineering from the University of Sheffield, UK, supported by competitive scholarships, following a B.Sc. in Physics from Koya University, Iraq.
Professor Fatah’s research focuses on the design and application of multifunctional nanopigments and coatings for ceramic and glass surfaces, emphasizing self-cleaning, cool surface, photocatalytic, and anti-corrosion properties. His work has been published in leading international journals and presented at global scientific congresses. He is particularly interested in translating advanced material science into sustainable technologies for real-world applications.
In addition to his research and teaching, Professor Fatah has held leadership roles such as Head of the Physics Department and Director of Library Services at the University of Garmian. Fluent in Kurdish, English, Persian, and Arabic, he actively promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and international cooperation, with a commitment to improving science education and integrating scientific English into physics instruction for non-native learners.
