Position : Assistant Professor, Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department, Faculty of Pharmacy, Adıyaman University, Türkiye.
Field of study : Pharmaceutical Chemistry, including the design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of novel bioactive molecules such as Carbonic Anhydrase inhibitors, Cholinesterase inhibitors, anti-cancer agents, anti-microbial agents, and anti-oxidants. His expertise also encompasses Molecular Docking and ADME/Tox studies.


Biography:

 

Dr. Suleyman Akocak is a highly accomplished scholar in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Adıyaman University, Türkiye. He earned his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, in 2014, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Marc A. Ilies, following a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Selcuk University, Konya, Türkiye, in 2007.

Dr. Akocak has garnered significant international recognition for his research excellence, being named a member of the World Top 2% Scientist List in 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2024, and is featured in the AD Scientific Index rankings. Throughout his career, he has received numerous honors, including the Turkish Pharmacists Association Young Scientist Award in 2019, several TUBITAK publication awards, and multiple best poster awards at national and international conferences.

Dr. Akocak's research primarily focuses on pharmaceutical chemistry, with a substantial record of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and book chapters. His expertise includes the design and development of novel bioactive molecules for various therapeutic applications.
