Dr. Kazi Matin Uddin Ahmed is a distinguished Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He began his professional career as a Junior Hydrogeologist in 1985 and joined Dhaka University as a lecturer in 1987. He earned his Ph.D. in Hydrogeology from University College London, UK, in 1994, under the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship. His research focuses on hydrogeology and groundwater, with a specialization in addressing issues such as arsenic, salinity, and microbiological contaminations, as well as developing strategies for managed aquifer recharge and sustainable groundwater management. He has supervised numerous Ph.D., M.Phil., and M.Sc. students from Bangladesh and abroad, and his collaborative network includes leading institutions in the UK, USA, Sweden, and Japan. With over 21,000 citations, he has been recognized on Stanford University's list of the top 2% of scientists worldwide. He is a Fellow of the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences and an Overseas Fellow of the Geological Society of London. Dr. Ahmed is a highly sought-after speaker, having delivered keynote and invited lectures at conferences in over 40 countries.
