Position : Professor, Computer Science and Multimedia Higher Institute (ISIMS), Sfax University, Tunisia
Field of study : Design and optimization of wireless network protocols, including Wireless Body Area Networks (WBAN), Internet of Things (IoT), and Vehicular Area Networks (VANET/IoV). Her research also encompasses security and trust management, with a focus on sustainable and green computing, as well as emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Machine Learning, and 5G/6G mobile networks.


Biography:

Prof. Lamia Chaari Fourati is a full Professor at the Computer Science and Multimedia Higher Institute (ISIMS) at Sfax University and a senior researcher at the Digital Research Center of Sfax (CRNS). She leads the INTELLECT research team, which specializes in intelligent networks and telecommunication protocols for emerging communication technologies. Her work is dedicated to the design, analysis, and validation of novel protocols and intelligent mechanisms for next-generation digital telecommunication networks. Her expertise spans critical areas like Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning, resource management, cybersecurity, trust, and resilience. Prof. Chaari Fourati's applied research also contributes to societal well-being, with a strong focus on sustainable and secure digital technologies for healthcare systems and intelligent transportation. A prolific scholar, she has authored over 100 journal publications and more than 160 conference papers. In recognition of her leadership and impact in STEM, she was awarded the African Union Kwame Nkrumah Regional Award for Scientific Excellence (North Africa, 2016). She has also supervised over 35 master's students and 28 PhD candidates.
