Dr. Sepideh Mirzaei Varzeghani is an internationally recognized scientist and Assistant Professor of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Science and Research Branch of Islamic Azad University, Tehran, Iran. Her research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of cancer progression, therapeutic resistance, and innovative strategies in gene therapy and translational oncology. She has authored numerous highly cited publications in top-tier international journals and several academic books. Her work has significantly contributed to understanding the role of biomarkers, non-coding RNAs, exosomes, and bioactive natural compounds in cancer biology and therapy. She has collaborated internationally, presented her findings at leading scientific congresses, and actively serves the academic community as a peer reviewer and editorial board member. Dr. Mirzaei’s excellence has been recognized with multiple prestigious awards. She was honored twice by the Iranian Academy of Medical Sciences (Young Scientist under 40 in 2023 and winner of the Second Place in Basic Sciences in 2024). In addition, she has been officially recognized among the top 2% of scientists worldwide, according to Stanford University’s global ranking.
