Professor Waleed Ebrahim Al-Herz is a leading specialist in allergy and clinical immunology and a Professor of Pediatrics at Kuwait University. He is American Board certified in both pediatrics and allergy & clinical immunology, having completed his training in the United States. A pioneer in his field in the region, he founded the Kuwait National Primary Immunodeficiency Registry in 2006 and has held key leadership positions, including Chairman of the Scientific Subcommittee for the Middle East North Africa & Turkey (MENAT) Primary Immunodeficiency Network Initiative Registry. He is an active member of the World Allergy Organization Primary Immunodeficiency Committee and has more than 130 publications in peer-reviewed journals. His research and academic excellence have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including Best Young Researcher from Kuwait University and Distinguished Researcher from the Kuwait Medical Association. Professor Al-Herz also holds a patent for the use of immunoglobulins in preventing ischemia-reperfusion injury.
