Yousri Kessentini is a distinguished Associate Professor and the Head of the DeepVision research team at the Digital Research Center of Sfax (CRNS), Tunisia. He earned his Ph.D. in Pattern Recognition from the University of Rouen, France, in 2009. His career has included significant research appointments, such as a postdoctoral fellowship at ITESOFT/LITIS in France. In 2025, he was awarded the prestigious Maathai Impact Award at Indaba Deep Learning, recognizing his contributions to the African machine learning and AI community. Since 2018, he has served as a certified instructor and ambassador for the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute, providing advanced AI training to a wide range of organizations. His research is focused on artificial intelligence, deep learning, document analysis, and computer vision. He has contributed to numerous research and technology transfer projects and has authored over 65 papers in international journals and conferences. Dr. Kessentini is committed to applying AI to solve societal challenges and is a dedicated mentor to the next generation of AI talent.
