Biography:

Dr. Fadzilah Kamaludin, Public Health Medicine Specialist holds an MBBS and Masters in Public Health Medicine and Executive Strategic Management for Healthcare. She is a member of the National Specialist Registry (NSR) and had served as Chairman. Fadzilah is the first Asian Woman to chair the TEPHINET Advisory Board based at Task Force for Global Health, United States of America. TEPHINET is an association of 70 member countries conducting training in Field Epidemiology. A similar program she spearheaded at Ministry of Health Malaysia since its inception in 2002. She was among the 19 experts worldwide invited to Rockefeller Foundation, Bellagio Italy to develop the FETP Enterprise Roadmap. World Health Organisation (WHO) appointed Fadzilah as the WHO Expert Committee for MersCoV and WHO Technical Advisor for Asia Pacific Strategy for Emerging Diseases (APSED) and WHO Technical Advisor for Field Epidemiology. Her vast experiences in global issues provided her opportunities to serve as consultant in many countries. Amongst of her major accomplishments included consultancies in developing the Joint Jordan, and Palestine Standard Operating Procedure for Avian Influenza, conducting Joint Evaluation for Field Training Program for Laos PRD, Mongolia and Cambodia and is a Technical Advisor to WHO for Field Epidemiology Training Program. During her tenure as Director of Institute for Medical Research (IMR), she guided the researchers to conduct and innovate impactful research. In 2017, IMR won the prestigious Lee Jong Wok Award at the World Health Assembly. In 2018, IMR’s Wolbachia Dengue Research project was taken up as one of the Strategic Plan for National Dengue Control Program.

  • Controlling Dengue using Wolbachia infected Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes

  • Appointed as Board Member for SafetyNet, Manila, Philippines
