Biography:

Dr. Abdulkadir Balıkçı graduated from Gazi University, Ankara, Turkey in 1992. He received his master's degree in 1996 and his doctorate in 2003 from New York Polytechnic University, USA, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He returned to Turkey in 2004 and started to work as a faculty member at the Electronics Engineering Department of Gebze Technical University, which was then called the Gebze Institute of Technology, and is still working at the same university. Since April 2014, he has been working as the Director of Energy Institute of TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center.

Dr. Balikci worked as a transmission systems planning engineer at New England-ISO, USA between 2001-2004.

Dr. Balikci’s research interests include Lithium-based Battery Management Systems, Energy Storage Technologies, Electric Vehicle Technologies, Electric Power Systems, Electrical Machines, Power Electronics, Electromagnetic Launch Systems, and Renewable Energy Systems.
