Mustafa (PBUH) Prize Widens Circle of Benefactors to Science, Technology

"Mustafa (pbuh) Prize Foundation has initiated a very noble Prize for top scientists in the Islamic countries. Universiti Putra Malaysia is honored to be associated with the Foundation and the Mustafa (pbuh) Prize Secretariat, in bringing together scientists from Islamic countries. We hope that our collaboration will help to elevate further, science and technology in Malaysia, for nation building.” This was a statement issued by Universiti Putra Malaysia, which made the university an honorary member of the Mustafa(pbuh) Prize Investment and Endowment Fund.
Eini Ideris, Vice Chancellor of the UPM also enlisted her name in the fund as an honorary member. The drive behind her making the decision is clear in her statement, "To get-to-know and to meet up with top scientist from Islamic countries is very exciting for further networking and research collaborations. Mustafa(pbuh) Prize Secretariat has made it possible. I have gained more knowledge in managing research."
The UPM and its Vice Chancellor’s honorary membership in the fund came on the last day of the Science and Technology Exchange Program (STEP) in Islamic countries was held at the UPM in December,2015. Organized jointly by the UPM and the MSTF, the STEP brought together top Muslim scientists from around the world to network and exchange their scientific experiences. Among the delegates were laureates of the 2015 Mustafa(pbuh) Prize.
The Mustafa(pbuh) Prize awards 500,000 dollars in cash to top Muslim scientists from across the globe, with the goal of taking effective steps toward developing science and technology in the Muslim world. The prize is financed based on endowments made to the Mustafa(pbuh) Investment and Endowment Fund
