Khazar University’s Representatives Participated in 6th STEP and Mustafa Prize Ceremony


On 9-12 November 2019, Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, the founder of Khazar University and chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, Associate Professor Irada Khalilova, rector of Khazar University, Associate Professor Javid Ojaghi, research fellow of Life Sciences Department and Associate Professor Rustam Rustamov, director of eiLink Research and Development Center had been invited to participate and give a talk in the 6th Science and Technology Exchange Program (STEP) and the 4th International EISA (Exposure of Industries to Scientists’ Achievements) summit organized by Mustafa(pbuh) Science and Technology Foundation (MSTF).

The 4th International EISA summit was held with a focus on the three fields: Water, Health, and Energy, along with the Mustafa Prize 2019 Award ceremony. Briefly, EISA is a commercial platform assembled to bring The Islamic World’s scientific community and academia closer together, enabling technological achievements in products and services to be introduced to new markets, industries, and investors. The Mustafa(pbuh) Prize is an award in the categories of information and communication science and technology, life and medical science and technology, nanoscience, and nanotechnology to citizens of one of the 57 Islamic countries with no restrictions on religion, gender or age. Also, this prize is awarded in the category of all areas of science and technology only to Muslims with no limits on citizenship, gender, or age. All the above areas include the following UNESCO fields of education: natural sciences, mathematics, and statistics; information and communication technologies; engineering, manufacturing, and construction; agriculture, forestry, fisheries and veterinary; health and welfare as well as cognitive science and Islamic Economics and Banking.

The event was held with the collaboration of the executive secretariat and with the attendance of 70 scientists in the field of scientific cooperation, financing, science and technology, water, energy, environment, health, and women. The mentioned panels were held in Alzahra University, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Sharif University of Technology, Imam Sadiq University, and Broadcasting University, Tehran, Iran.

On 9 November, Professor Hamlet Isakhanli participated in the panel discussion with the lecture titled “What are the Priorities of Science and Technology Cooperation Network in the Islamic World?” in Alzahra University.

On 10 November, Professor Hamlet Isakhanli delivered another speech titled “Public Relations as Science Communication” in the Science Communication Summit, hosted by the Broadcasting University of Iran. On the same day, Associate Professor Irada Khalilova introduced a presentation on “Implications for the Clinical Consequences of Myeloperoxidase Mediated Oxidation” in the Health, People, and Environment Summit hosted by Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Iran.

On 11 November, the 3rd round of the Mustafa(pbuh) Prize award ceremony was organized at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall. Two Turkish scientists and three Iranian academics were awarded this honorable Mustafa(pbuh) Prize. Professor Hamlet Isakhanli was invited to the stage to present the prize among other presenters (link: https://iranpress.com/en/iran-i140427-3_iranians_2_turkish_scholars_win_mustafa_prize).

Representatives of Khazar University also had a meeting with the head of the department of “Education and Science” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran. They discussed different levels of degree programs and the internationalization strategy of Khazar University.
