MSTF Media reports:

Hamlet Abdulla oglu Isayev, as a participant in “Public Relations as Science Communication” STEP Talk, first gave a brief account of the history of communication. Centuries ago, using letters was so prevalent throughout Europe that Europe was called the Republic of Letters, he said. According to him, “now with the existence of the Internet, Facebook and other kinds of social media, we have the ‘World Republic of Letters’.”

He stated that “nowadays science journalists can talk to scientists in order to solve the misunderstandings and get the facts from sources.”

He emphasized the critical role of the Internet and stated that “the age of technology gives the opportunity to scientists to interact with each other.”

Isayev also pointed to the importance of writing scientific books which, according to him, can reinforce the interaction between scientists and the society.

The 6th round of Science and Technology Exchange Program (STEP) in Islamic Countries was held simultaneously with 2019 Mustafa(pbuh) Prize Award Ceremony in Iran. Science Communication was one of the main focuses of attention in this round of STEP.
