The role of Muslim women in the development of science and technology highlighted

The 5th round of STEP is to be held in March focusing on Cutting Edge Pharmaceutical Approaches to Meet Health Challenges of CDs and NCDs; with an Emphasis on Female Scientists’ Contributions.

Science and Technology Exchange Program (STEP) in Islamic countries was set up to create an atmosphere of cooperation and interaction between experts and scientists in the Islamic countries. The project aimed to elaborate on the science and technology discourse and develop the network of relation among the scientists of the Islamic world. It has further tried to pave the way for collaboration and development of scientific cooperation, and provide the possibility for improvement of scientific and technological activities in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries.

One of the key activities of the 5th STEP meeting in Islamic countries is to emphasize the role of Muslim women in the development of science and technology as well as their high profile in the present summit.

During this program, the health challenges in Islamic world, and the latest approaches and achievements to face these challenges will be investigated.

The 3rd round of Exposure of Industries to Scientists' Achievements (EISA) will be held on the sidelines of the STEP meeting, while the companies and investors together with the engineers and scientists who have successful achievements in new products and services will meet each other. EISA will be held simultaneous to STEP meeting at Karachi University in Pakistan.

The Science and Technology Exchange Program (STEP) in Islamic countries will be an opportunity for scientists from Islamic countries and scholars from the Islamic world to meet and share their successful achievements and experiences with each other as well as young scientists.

The 5th round of STEP will last from Feb 27 to March 2 this year at Karachi University.
