MSTF Media reports:

In the second keynote address that was held in Tehran University of Medical Sciences on November 10, 2019, two scientists elaborated on their successful experiences in the field of science and technology.

Sunday keynote address included Ugur Sahin and Naweed Syed.

Ugur Sahin is a professor of medicine, immunologist, and cancer researcher at Medical Center of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. His main focus is on cancer and immunology.

He emphasized the importance of learning among scientists and mentioned that learning helps smooth the way for success.

He further asserted that the immune system is one of the most advanced and complex biological systems and we must pay more careful attention to what we have.

According to Sahin, each person has unique cancer cells and this uniqueness is the source of different treatments. We must first recognize genetic codes in each cancer patient. He examined T cells before and after vaccination and observed the partial improvement.

Sahin also asserted that one’s vision is more important than their project and that one must follow science and leave their safe territory and go far away. He believed that working hard and loyalty are two important factors.

Naweed Syed is a professor of Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy at University of Calgary. He is a Pakistani-born Canadian neuro-scientist. He mentioned that we must be proud of our past. Science started centuries ago for Muslims when Europeans were in ignorance. When they were in ignorance we built the first hospital in the world and this important fact represents our brilliant history.

He also mentioned that we must embrace future with a wide range of decisions. This future is a super-intelligent human. This future is the representation of artificial intelligence.

Then Syed pointed to the significance of limbic system and the function of human brain and mentioned that the importance of synapses in our nervous system is unavoidable. We must come back to the basic challenges and try to embrace them. Paying attention to the importance of networking function of brain, neural firing, and three-dimensional recording of neuronal activity by the help of chips can pave the way for other researches, he said.
